COAEYC is seeking candidates to fill five (5) open seats on our governing board this year:

  • Three (3) seats are general seats open to anyone.

  • One (1) seat is reserved for a student who is enrolled in an early childhood education program at a Colorado institute of higher learning or someone who is in the process of obtaining or renewing their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

  • One (1) seat is reserved for an early childhood educator who is currently working in a licensed program or who operates a family child care home.
     

 

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be a member by April 14, 2022. 

 

TERM: The length of service for this in-kind position will be two years beginning July 1, 2022.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a working Board. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participating in organizational planning and decision-making with sound and informed judgments

  • Serve on a state membership committee in a liaison/leadership role

  • Attend monthly online board meetings or committee meetings 

    • Board Meetings are currently scheduled on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:00, but that is subject to change. All board meetings are virtual at this time but the board is exploring a hybrid option.

  • Participate in a mandatory board governance symposium on Saturday, July 16th from 9am-11am. This is virtual but may become hybrid depending on interest.

  • Attend a virtual new board member orientation meeting on Saturday, July 9th from 9am-10am.

  • Complete online State of Colorado Non-Profit Board Member Course

  • Annual board member review

  • Contribute financially, as you are able, annually

  • It is estimated that each board member will spend approximately 15 hours each month on board meetings, projects, and activities.
