It is the time of year in which we are seeking individuals interested in serving on our COAEYC board. If you are interested in promoting high-quality early learning for all children and advancing diverse, dynamic early childhood professionals who care for, educate and work on behalf of young children throughout Colorado, then we want you!
Our board is growing! COAEYC is seeking candidates to fill five open seats on our governing board this year, bringing our voting board member count to nine.
REQUIREMENTS: Be a member of COAEYC by May 17th.
TERM: The length of service for this in-kind position will be two years beginning July 1, 2021.
This is a working Board. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Actively participating in organizational planning and decision-making with sound and informed judgments
Serve on a state membership committee in a liaison/leadership role
Attend monthly on-line board meetings or committee meetings
Participate in a mandatory 2 day board training in July (tentative dates July 10th & 11th)
Complete online State of Colorado Non-Profit Board Member Course
Annual board member review
Contribute financially, as you are able, annually
It is estimated that each board member will spend approximately 15 hours each month on board meetings, projects, and activities.
The COAEYC Elections Committee will accept applications through May 3rd. A slate created from the eligible applications will be presented to COAEYC members and voting will begin on May 17th. Please note, submitting an application will not guarantee a spot on the slate. Voting will close on June 7th. Results will be announced on June 11th and the new board members will start their terms July 1st. Current COAEYC members in good standing may vote for one candidate for each of the five positions.
