Virtual Professional Development Book Club

Earn 6 to 10 professional development clock hours in Colorado's Professional Development Information System (PDIS) with COAEYC's Virtual Professional Development Book Club. While a book club may seem daunting to some, we try to select books and articles that are easy to read around a busy schedule and that you can apply to your everyday work with young children or educators.

Qualities of Effective Leadership in Early Childhood Education

Join us as we explore Doing the Right Thing for Children: Eight Qualities of Leadership by Maurice Sykes. This course is intended to help you develop the skills, knowledge, and habits of mind to be a successful leader and do the right thing for children, whether you serve at the individual, organizational, or classroom level.

This class is worth a total of 10 clock hours, with 6 of those hours being contact hours with your Zoom book club cohort. You must attend all four sessions to receive a certificate of completion. Certificates will be issued directly to your PDIS account.

Nonmember Price: $50

Your registration fee includes a digital or print copy of Doing the Right Thing for Children: Eight Qualities of Leadership by Maurice Sykes (up to a $25.00 value).
