About the Event
This strengths-based training supports families and early childhood professionals in creating safe, predictable, and emotionally supportive holiday experiences for children. Grounded in trauma-informed care, the session explores how shifts in routine, sensory overload, and holiday expectations can impact children—especially those who thrive on structure or have experienced adversity. Participants will learn simple co-regulation strategies, age-appropriate calming activities, and ways to maintain emotional safety during busy seasonal events.
The training is also culturally responsive, honoring the diversity of family traditions, values, and celebrations. We encourage reflection on personal cultural practices, recognition of varied sensory and emotional needs, and inclusive approaches that reduce stress rather than reinforce pressure or expectations. Caregivers will leave with tools that affirm children’s identities, support mental health, and strengthen connection—ensuring the holiday season is meaningful, gentle, and supportive for every family.
