Spring 2011 Conference Presentation Proposal

 

CAEYC holds two conferences each year, in the spring and fall. 


The Fall 2010 conference will be held October 9, 2010.  Registration forms and the complete program information are available now. 
Register online.  Please note: group registration is now available online in addition to by mail or fax.

Vendor packets for the Fall 2010 conference are available by contacting the business office: caeyc@ColoradoAEYC.org.

Three different ECE classes will be offered by the Community College of Denver in conjunction with the CAEYC fall 2010 conference.  Registration information and forms are available now for ECE 101 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education, ECE 103 - Guidance Strategies and ECE 260 - The Exceptional Child.  The fee for each class is $375 and is due to CAEYC by September 17, 2010.

The Spring 2011 conference will be held March 4 & 5, 2011.  The conference proposal form is due December 3, 2010.

In addition to the fall and spring conferences, CAEYC will be collaborating with three other organizations (Colorado Head Start Association, Denver Preschool Program, and the Early Childhood Education Association of Colorado) to provide a joint conference on April 15 & 16, 2011.  The name of the conference is: Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Regional Conference.  For more information, go to: www.ecconference.com or email to: info@ecconference.com.

 


Dr Jean (sponsored by Kaplan Early Learning Company) will present the keynote address and a breakout session at the Fall 2010 conference.  Keynote address -  you’ll discover how to apply brain research in your classrooms in ways that are simple, meaningful, and FUN!    Highlights will include:

·                     songs and handshakes to start your day

·                     cross lateral activities

·                     connecting to the brain through the heart

·                     brain breaks and celebrations

 Breakout workshop will be on Transition Tips and Tricks.  Transitions are all those “in between” times when things tend to get out of control.  This workshop will present positive ways to focus children’s attention with songs, finger plays, props, and games.

*    chants and tunes for guiding children

rhymes to develop phonemic awareness
*        
recall activities to end your day

 

Tri-County Health Department Nurses will be administering Free vaccines (Tdap, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B) for the first 150 attendees who visit their table at the fall conference October 9th.  If you have an immunization record, please bring it with you.
